They also have an amazing client list including, AT&T, Bing, McDonald's, Procter & Gamble, and hundreds more. After reviewing the Top 100 Best Global Brands, I was not surprised with the Top 10. However, I thought Apple would be higher up on the list, like in the top 5. It is no surprise that Coca Cola is number one. Coca Cola was invented a few years before Pepsi but occupies a lot more spots in local businesses and stores. When in Ireland, I only saw Coke products. I do not know if there is a reason for only supplying coke products to Ireland or not because in the US, we have both brands in the stores so the consumers have the option of choosing which they'd prefer. Coke is a very successful product that also sponsors a lot of events like sports in the US. One thing I was surprised about was that all the brands in the top 10 were from the United States. I am proud of that but I didn't realize how big of the world's distributors they are.
I took this picture in a local store to show the size difference with the ones in the US. |
Finally, I looked at the interactive charts and I was able to see the break down of each category by the total brand value in millions. I chose electronics to look at because it is one of the largest categories with 14 different brands under it. Intel and Apple are the brands making the largest amounts of money. Intel made 35,217 million dollars and Apple came close with 33,492 million dollars over 11 years. This website is really cool and informative because it breaks down the categories to even smaller subcategories to get more of a detailed view. Almost all of these top products on the list, I saw while exploring Ireland.
