Are you a Monochron or a Polychron?

A polychron considers time continuous, or never-ending. Time flows from an infinite past, through the present, into the future. At work, Polychrons tend to be unstructured, bouncing from one activity to the next. They do not want a strict plan, and like doing tasks on their own schedule. On the other hand, Monochrons are consider time fixed, rather than continuous. Monochrons love structure, details, and organizing their time into a daily routine. They like doing one task till it’s finished, before moving on to the next.

After reading the chapter and learning the difference between the two, I figured I was a monochron. It seemed to describe me very well. So, I took the quiz to see which one I was and when all the questions were answered, I got the score of 80. My result ended up being:

41-80 Moderately Monochronic = B to C range on the scale.
These individuals demonstrate an organized approach to projects and are committed to their completion on time. They ultimately prioritize the successful completion of projects, and tend to address tasks in an analytical and information-oriented manner. These individuals tend to prefer an isolated and uninterrupted work environment; social interaction has its appropriate time and place. Their significant communications are usually to the point, logical and written. Though group input is an important element in these individuals’ decision-making process, they ultimately rely on personal judgment to make important final decisions.

I agree with this assessment, I must have everything completed on time and I can’t stand to be late with anything. If possible I would even try to get task and projects done before they are even due, but that does not happen as much as I like. I always get my assignments done, whether it's a week in advance or pulling an all-nighter the night before. When studying, I need it to be extremely quiet and I can't have anyone talking to me or I will loose focus. I usually tend to go to the library because my apartment is always full of people and I get easily distracted or find an excuse to watch TV instead of studying or doing work.

All in all, I have to agree with the scores.
